Just got my shiny brand new Antec P160. And guess what, I've broken it already! Well not quite....I've smashed one of my temperature sensors by trying to squish it between the CPU and heatsink :( To be honest, it doesn't really matter because the case comes with two anyway. However, it's beginning to annoy me when it flashes error on the temp display for the second sensor (funny how these things work on you!). Now I don't really feel like splashing out £20 on a new control panel for the P160, so would it be possible to get myself a single temp sensor from somewhere. Not necesarily an official Antec one, just a standard two-pin job. I'm not asking for places to buy, just what I should be looking for.

Cheers,
Tim

Well you can get them but they can be a bit tricky to get hold of for reasonable pricing.

Is it the usual 2 pins in a white holder, with a orangey termal bit on the end :p?

I love my technical terminology sometimes!

lol, that's the one! Although I don't really mind what it looks like, as long as it does the job. What would you call something like that?

Thermal Probe I think they are called, and google is your friend in this matter.

Although if they are silly money / cannot find one then pop a product suggestion for OcUK and email me about it, I may have one lying around.... although it is a bit late for me to see if I do!

My temps are all over the place all of a sudden on my Aerocool Gatewatch... wondered if you thought that these were definately kaput or not?

Basicaly only been using a couple of weeks, the two went one after the other... The CPU and HDD sensors are fine, but the VGA and Case temps are kinda wild! Going from 18C to 44C hopping about all the time! Hope you have an idea as its doing my nut now lol

Probably the sensor either being out of the range it can read, or it just being dead.

Get onto the manufacturer and moan about how long they lasted in the case, and they should send you some more. :p

Please tell me you werent trying to actually fit it between the cpu and heatsink. If you do this, its going to cause the heatsink to have bad contact with the cpu, and the temperature will shoot up. Instead you want to be sticking it ont he heatsink, or on the side of the IHS.
