Hey, would appear i'm missing a couple of springs for my watercooling kit. Already looked around Homebase and asked around there but couldn't find anything, where could I go next? Robert Dyas likely to sell them?

Great customer service from a great water-cooling company

The springs should be of a specific type producing a specific downforce. In practice it doesn't usually matter too much beause most people screw the springs down too much but it should matter if done properly.

If the block was new, you are owed the right mounting kit. If it was used, unless they specifically mentioned including the springs you are screwed and won't be able to get them from the seller.

Given the strength of modern cpus and their IHS, you could probably just use lots of washers but it will look really messy.

Yeah, was a used kit off Ebay, everything is fine bar the 1 spring I need, irritating thing is that I reckon I lost it
I'll contact Asetek again and see if I can perhaps buy some or something. But yeah, if not i'll just have to get a counterbalance with washers or nuts or something. Thanks for the help ;)

If they are the large ones, do you recon you could cut them all in half??

To give you 6 smaller ones. (2 spare in case you lose them again :D )

Manuf usually recommend you compress springs 50%. Maybe compress the cut down ones a bit more to compensate.

This will be better than using washers.

At least pressure on block will be even.
