Replacement windscreen

Some numpty in a van pulled out on me on the A1(M) yesterday and flung something at my windscreen causing a 4 inch crack. I've arranged to get this replaced on Thursday through my insurance company paying the £75 excess. I'm kind of glad it's being replaced as there's always been a chip right in the middle. What I don't understand is how this will affect my insurance policy when I renew it?

Depending on who your policy is with - most mainstream insurers don't class windscreen repairs/replacement as a fault. Others might, but all will have some impact on loading - whether it's a tiny amount or a significant increase, you'll find out at renewal :)
Don't suppose you got the van's reg number?

Admiral said it doesn't affect my no claims but have no idea how much the claim would cost to add it to my claims.

Don't suppose you got the van's reg number?

No I didn't, I was going to but how would I have proved they did it?
The guy at work laughed at me when I said I thought about getting the reg and reporting it to my insurance company :(
