Replacing 1900xtx with 3450

Currently have a 1900xtx 512mb and want to put a card in that's better at coping with BD/HD playback. The 3450 comes highly recommended and is very cheap (£30) and seems perfect for what I need, as I don't really play games on the PC.

The question is, for the extra money should I just get a 3650 or 3850 to cover myself, or is it just overkill?

I know it's not as good at 3D but how does the 3450 compare with my old 1900xtx?

if you dont play any games at all then it will be great for the price and easily do BD/HD

Thanks, yeah I mostly use the 360 and Wii for games, haven't played anything on PC for ages.

Is there any difference between the 256 and 512 versions of the card, or should I save some £££ and get the 256MB?

Just out of interest, would any of the 3 series cards run something like GRID for example on my 42" plasma?

Maybe at reduced graphics?

To run with full graphics I am guessing for GRID that you'll be wanting a 4850 512mb (under £118).

I can try a 3870 for you but I don't have GRID d'oh!

What would this card be like for HD/BD and for games? It's only £58 which I could stretch to.
