Hi there! I slowly have started thinking of replacing my trusty 275GTX. Budget limit is around 300 euros. So options:

1. Buy now something you will point me at.

2. Wait a bit (since 275 can still hold its own) for something new. Is there anything worth waiting in the relatively close horizon? Probably, if i wait abit, i could buy something that at present time is out of (financial) reach

And a final question:
Once i get hold of the new card, what happens to the 275? Can i use it for PhysX or something?

Many thanks in advance!

I would sell the GTX275 and go for a HD6950. It will be around November before ATI have the Northern Island card ready.

I just replaced my GTX 275 with the 480GTX's on offer. Nice " little" upgrade. :D

Will use the 480 as a stop gap between now and when Kepler arrives ( Q4 2011 prob)

Ooo, the usual...Right now it's Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age, Warhammer Dawn of War 2....And a quick re-go at Batman

And what will happen to the existing 275? Can i use it for PhysX?

And, don't you think tha tgoing to 480 is "too little" of an upgrade?

Its double the speed in a lot of games. + DX 11 effects e.t.c

I have a stuffed 275 and the 480 (asus offer since OC bought up the job lot) sure was tempting, my 275 3% underclocked is still stable but I am waiting for BF3 specs to be released to be sure I get what I need.

Its a matter of buying what suits your needs, I am currently playing World of tanks so I can defer the new card happily!

For the £'s as long as you accept the power/possible noise the 480 is the card of the moment as its a real step forward!

eeerm no recommendations for Nvidia.

the 570 is a very sound performer and on a par with top ATI, also DX11 :)

Yes, i was considering the 570, but i think crosses the 300 euros budget...
What about 560Ti? Do you think is a "juicy" update grom 275?

The 560Ti is a great card - i have one - it over clocks well (although i havent tinkered with mine yet)

it uses less wattage than the 480GTX and is much quieter, however it IS slower.

i guess it depends on what is most important to you.

personally if i had your card i would hold fire a little, esp as you said you can still manage, but that is just me, i like to get the most i can out of my stuff.

Yeap, couldn't agree more!

570 > 560 anyday lol. Had both and not many 560's (if any iirc) have the external cooler that exhausts air out the back of the case so other components get hot in the case. The 570 performs better and can be had for around 275 which is only about 30 - 40 above some of the 560's.

Personal preference again though lol :D

Just replace it when you actually need the extra power for a game you like. Resist the urge otherwise :)

As of now, 6950 2GB still rules due to it's unloxking ability, great value.
