I'm thinking of replacing my Radeon 3870 with something a little newer for around the £100 mark.
It seems like I should either be looking at one of the new GTS 450s, or a 768MB version of the GTX 460.

Any thoughts on what would be the better choice - generally gaming at 1920x1080.
I think I'll mainly be playing Civ V for the next few months :)

The GTX 460 768MB is by far the better card, however it does cost a bit more. If you can afford to get the GTX 460 - then go for it, it is one of the very best bang-for-buck cards around.

These reviews [1] [2] show how the GTS 450 compares to the GTX 460 768MB in a variety of games.

If you are mainly playing Civ 5 @1920x1080 - then the GTS 450 will be more than enough. However, for playing other games the GTX 460 has a good deal more performance.
