easy? or hard? Have been given a perfectly good working Compaq 110 mini, but my cousin stood on the screen, and its bled everywhere. Screen on ebay is only £35, so is it worth me replacing and using as appose to selling it broken?

Have taken a laptop apart from before, im guessing the screen is just screwed on with a ribbon connecting it to the mobo?

Kind Regards, Dan

as i don't know how to create a new post on this forum i'm piggy backing on your post. hope you don't mind.
i have the same computer with 1GB RAM and i was wondering if there is any compatible stuff out there and if it's even worth it!

thanks and apologies tom

Depending on the model and spec, it should be worth up to £150 - 170 second hand, but probably £50 - 75 as broken for spares. I would fix it, you just need to make sure you are very careful with the ribbons as they can be fragile. I'm unsure how you split the top clamshell and would watch out for the webcam built in, so would google fully for this information before starting.

I have a Compaq 110-500 (from Dubai) with 2Gb and it is a good netbook. I use it far more than my laptop now.
