Wife put her iPhone 6 64Gb through the washing machine this morning and it is now deader than a very dead thing.

Apple have confirmed its terminal prognosis and I now have the following options:-

£279 to replace it like for like (iPhone 6 64Gb)
£600 for a 6s 128Gb
£700 for the 7 128Gb

First of all I wondered if the dead unit is worth anything at all to consider opting for a new phone rather than replacement?

Secondly is the extra for the 7 worth it over the 6s when buying new (not upgrading from one to the other)?

Thanks

The 7 camera is noticeably better than the 6S. I also really like the new home button. And the new taptics sprinkled throughout the UI are pretty nice.

You lose the headphone jack, though.

I ended up popping back to the apple store and picked up a new 7 for her.

Now just need to decided what to do with the old one

1) Pay apple to replace it
2) Find someone else to repair it
3) Sell it as a dead phone

I just sold my wife's 64GB 6 for £225 to Music Magpie. So that should give you an idea whether it's worth paying for Apple to repair it (probably it is).
