Hi there,

I am looking at replacing my desktop PC with a laptop (Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM) . I currently have both but considering upgrading and just having a more modern laptop (love the X1 carbon Lenovos)

Currently have a large gaming style PC which I haven't gamed on for years as I use it for my IT support business now, photoshop etc.

Do use dual monitors and require around 6 USB ports for label printer, keyboard/mouse, USB powered desk light, hard drive enclosure for testing hard drives so I know i'de need a USB hub if they do such a thing for dual monitors/6 USB ports. Hoping to plug one USB-C cable into the laptop to power the HUB.

Main reason for doing it is I have a small office and do custom builds so i'm running out of storage space along with the repairs as well.

Just wondering if anyone has done this and regretted it or have and wouldn't look back?

If portability matters then that would be an obvious benefit, but the one thing to consider on a thin and light laptop is the fan noise, especially when driving multiple displays plus accessories.

The higher end ones, and especially from Lenovo and Dell usually have decent cooling solutions and power management, but have a look at a couple reviews. You might consider something like the Lenovo Legion Pro or Slim series, which is essentially a gaming laptop i.e. it has the power and cooling performance but also doesn't look unprofessional.
