i have a laptop that has a damaged screen that i want to fix, has anyone had experience with replacing a screen on a laptop? its a dell laptop not sure on the model (not with me) its a 15.4" screen, where can i buy a replacement? (if you cant post links in this thread pls send me a pm)

any help will be much appreciated :)

make sure you get the screen out of its surround and confirm exactly what model number it is before you order.

I've replaced a fair few laptop screens, its pretty simple job if not a bit time consuming.

I normally check ebay for new screens, you'll need to know the make and model of the laptop.

They key is taking your time and be sure to check the service book for the correct removal of the parts to get to the screen.

Again take your time and dont force anything apart :)

thanks for the help guys but is it true that they cost quite a bit? some people have said that it isn't worth fixing the screen as it'll cost quite a bit?

mine cost about £80 off ebay for my acer screen. pretty simple to do takes 30mins mabye an hour max. as said make sure you get the right model number

Make sure you buy the right screen, there are likely to be several different types. Would reccomend calling Dell support and getting the part number of the screen for your laptop.
