Replacing a wheel/tire?

I have a pretty cheap bike, a Carrera Crossfire 1.
The current problem I'm having is that the back wheel has gone through 4 inner tubes in a very short space of time. I've looked over the outside and inside of the tire each time I've replaced the inner tube, but I can't find what's causing the problem.
I'm only using cheap inner tubes from Halfords, but I can't be this unlucky?

So I'm thinking of charging the tire, or maybe the whole wheel. Is there anything I should aim for? What kind of details do I need?

Also on the subject of innertubes, is it a case of you get what you pay for, or do the cheap ones do the job?

Are the punctures definitely on the tyre side? It could be something in the rim causing the punctures. It could also be caused by running the tyres at the wrong pressure, be it too high or too low.

As above.. Also check the rim and the rim tape for any rough or sharp bits that could pinch.

I once has a series of punctures as my pressure was a tiny bit low. Upped the pressure a tad and no more issues.

I tend to run continental tubes rather than unbranded or shop branded ones too now. But you need to look at the first things first.. Pressures and any sharp bits..

Cheaper and better quality tubes than Halfrauds, buy in bulk to make even more of a saving (I tend to buy 10 at a time).

As mentioned here, it's more than likely tyres if they are the original (usually kenda unbranded on Carrera) and have a few miles in them.

Changing wheels is also an option, £100 would get you a complete awesome wheelset (front+back) which are faster, lighter and possibly stronger than the ones the CF comes with. Bear in mind as yours is a Carrera CF it is probably older than 2011 with a 7/8 speed Claris/Sora groupset and not 10/11 speed compatible without shims on the wheelset I've linked.
