Replacing a workstationaftr HDD failure

We have a few Dell Optiplex PC's and a Dell Power edge Server running Win. Small Business Server 2003. A HDD in one machine died and I replaced it, reinstalled XP Pro and now I want to add it back on the server as it was previously. I want it to assume its old identity with email, saved documents etc. Is this possible and if so how?

You could reset the computer account (from ADUC not Server Management) keep the name the same and rejoin it manually, not using the connectcomputer wizard.

havent geard it called aduc for ages

I always call it aduc or dsa and people at work think i am talking gibberish

Yes, socks right - unforunately we do this sort of thing more than we'd like!

If your using exchange for you email and either roaming profiles or folder redirection.

then yes its possible exactly how sock suggests
