Replacing an X1900XT

Hey everyone,

Hope you can help me.

I've got a PC running an X1900XT PCI-e card and powered by an AMD x2 4200 which has served me well for many years, it now struggles with HD Flash videos and the like, so I'm looking to replace the card.

Ideally I need a card that will run HD video well, with the odd bit of gaming, I'm not a huge gamer so that side of things is less important, but I don't want an ultra low powered card, more a kind of middling one.

Not worried if its ATI again or NVidia, but it need to be the same size or smaller than the X1900XT to fit in my case.

Can anyone make some suggestions please ?

Hopefully thats not too tall an order :)

Thanks

Ian

I'd agree on the 4850. Can handle newer games quite well and was a big upgrade for me when I came from a x1900xt.

Don't think you can do better for the <£100.

I would try and stretch to a 5750, should be faster, quieter and use less power.

The 5850 is a very similar length to the X1900XT, about 3mm in it, if you wanted to go higher end.
