Replacing antennas on a PCI-E TP-Link card

Hi all,

Looking to replace the antennas with some high range ones on my TP-Link Wireless-N PCI-E card that I've just bought. Any recommendations? I'm only getting 'Fair' signal within Windows and i'm not a considerable distance away from the router, just a few walls.

What are the walls constructed of and what is in the walls? They can have a big hit on signal strength.

Also, as its a PCI-E card am assuming that your computer is currently sat on the floor next to a desk. This will also impact on strength.

The best option is to get a desktop antenna if you are wanting to stick with your wireless card is to buy a desktop antenna. Very easy to find just google them.

I tried something similar in an old house and the wireless was very flaky, even with different antennas on both router and computer. In the end I went for homeplugs and have had no issues with them and would recommend them over wireless (if they are useable) any time)
