I am going to replace some EK barbs in my loop with EK compression fittings (so all my fittings are the same)

Is there any reason I cannot just straight up replace the fittings, off with the old on with the new?

Reason I ask is that the primochill tubing I use hugs the barb so tight that it gets warped slightly.

There shouldn't be an issue. Drain the loop off with the old and on with the new. Just do a test fit on one of the tubes to see. Compression fittings would be more secure than the barbs anyway.

I won't bother draining the whole loop. Just the CPU block (where the fittings are being swapped) and then I will do the tests then.

The tubing will have stretched slightly over the Barbs, you might want to trim the tubing back a little if you can, so the new fittings are fitted to an un-stretched piece of the tubing.

I just finished and this is what I did. The tubes were a centimetre too long anyway. It's just a little disconcerting that I have no idea how much tubing is held down by the compression fitting as you cannot see inside them.
