Replacing bathroom shaver socket

Hi,

Is it a requirement to have to have an electrician to swap out a broken shaver socket with it being in a notifiable area? Mines just outside of 'zone 2' if that matters.

If I can do it myself, does anyone know what I can buy that will fit this one? I guess it's a bit odd in that there is nothing in the wall, it's all contained in a raised box with no back plate. I think this might work / be the same - but it doesn't look to have the box bit...? Is there any better options?

Having just painted it, a matching size would be handy :)

Thanks!

Ok thanks, that's good news :) Please can someone suggest a replacement, if i can use the existing backing box thing and just change the front that would be great.

It's broken in that I cant actually plug stuff into it, something in the socket has jammed up.

That looks ok but to be safe i would ask in an electric suppliers and take a pic of the one you have just in case. There are many electrical suppliers around who will be more than willing to help you out. Good luck

The box is just a 47mm deep surface pattress. You may use the same one, or replace.

Generally one used the same make pattresses as wiring accessories, but if you don't then be aware that some makes are square corners, while others are round (radiused) corners. Putting a round corner accessory on a square corner patress (or vice versa) makes it look terrible. There are slight variations in shade of the plastic between makes as well
