Replacing broken monitor - at a loss

So long story short, I moved house and managed to damage my my monitor. It did need replacing in fairness as it's the one part of my setup which hasn't changed in a long time. In case the wife finds this board somehow I want to state I absolutely didn't damage it on purpose because I wanted a new one!

I'm at a point where I just simply feel lost trying to pick a monitor. I was hoping to find something along the lines of a 34" curved 1440p HDR100 but they seem few and far between. I'd be happy to go higher in terms of screen size to mee that but I tried a 49" super-wide but I did find it slightly uncomfortable. Any ideas or suggestions?

What's your budget?

What will you use the monitor for? Are you a gamer?
Hey yeah I am a gamer and I've got a backlog of games to get through. No am.planning to build a new rig later in the year.

Budget wise I can push to £1200 if necessary. But ideally like to keep it at approx £800
