Does anyone know, (as im useless when it comes to cars) where on a VW Golf 1990 mk2 you replace the dashboard bulbs, as mine have blown! now the clocks have gone back its gonna be dark when I drive home, And also what sort of Volt are they? - lost the manual!

Are they easy to replace? Or is it a garage jobby?

Any help would be grately received. :)

It will be just a case of methodically removing clips and screws and then the instrument cluster will come out. The bulbs will be secured into the back of this.

I don't know what bulbs they will be.

Make sure you get exactly the same wattage though otherwise you could end up melting interior plastics or the light being too dim.

Thanks for the reply, that sounds like a job destined to go wrong. :p

Dunno how i'll know which one is which though... :o

Say what now.?.
The bulbs are usually secured into the back of the instrument clusters.

You just unscrew/unclip them and put a new one in.

It's really not hard. Just need to take things steady and get a few pots to put the different screws in.

A haynes manual could be useful.

Ill have to have search for that manual, all my mates are the same as me, know nothing about cars. :o

Ill have to find that manual.

What is an instrument cluser though? It might help...?

All the instruments (ie speedo fuel gauge temp gauge) are clustered together and come out as one big block or cluster..
