Hi just looking for some advice with radiator fans & fan controller.

I'm getting some new fans delivered to replace the stock h80i fans along with a fan controller.

At the minuet the stock fans on the h80i are plugged in to the block. When replacing these fans should the new fans plug into the block or is it possible to wire them to a fan controller, or isn't that advised?

Thanks :)

You can wire them to wherever you like, but for the most effective control, use the unit and Corsair Link. If you set it up correctly, you'll get the fans running very low, about 450-500rpm idle and less than 1100rpm load - this worked for my stock H100i fans and my current Alpenfohns.

Ok thanks for the info, I'll wire the new fans into the block then. I wasn't sure if Corsair Link would still work after replacing the fans.

Another quick question I have is, the h80i is in push / pull. But it's one big old lump inside the case and it restricts me from having two fans on the top of the case.

If I had one fan outside the case on the back would that be worthless or would that still be ok?

fan > case > radiator > fan

That way id be able to use the two fans on the top of the case rather than just the one.

Cheers!

Yea there long screws the ones that came with the cooler. I think it should hold, just didn't know if it would effect the cooler by being outside the case rather than directly on the rad. Trial and error I guess ^^

There will be one fan out side on the rear of the case while the other fan is still inside the case. It'll be push / pull so yes it'll be an exhaust.

With both fans doing the same but both being inside the case it restricts me from having fans on the top of the case as exhaust fans. Because the h80i is so chunky it covers the holes for the top mounted fans.
