Hi,

Anyone able to tell me or link me to a guide in replacing the headlight bulb (driver side specifically) on my Ford Focus (2002)?
I believe the required bulb is a H7 type? (dipped beam)

Also, not bought bulbs yet.
Are the Halfords range any good or am I better off looking for Nightbreakers?
Ideally need them tomorrow and unfortunately dont know anywhere else whom may sell decent bulbs.

Thanks all.

Many people have found that the Osram Nightbreakers tend to blow quite easily but the light they output is pretty decent. Not too sure about any other alternatives as I've not changed any bulbs for a few years now.

As for changing the drive's side bulb, if you pop the bonnet, you'll find a cover for the bulb housing which is simple to remove. Once open, there's a spring type clip that holds the bulb in place, it is a little fiddly to remove purely because the angle that you can get your hand in is quite awkward. When you have removed that, it's simply a case of replacing the bulb by pulling it out of the socket and replacing it and then reattaching everything.

Like I say, the only thing that is difficult is the angle that you can get your hand in at. I seem to remember standing back to back with the bonnet at one point purely so I could unclip the bulb properly.

Halfords bulbs are fine. Drivers side is easy / plenty of room... Other side with battery is the difficult one. Only tip I can give you is to unplug the plug from the back of the bulb before trying to remove the clip holding the bulb in place.

I just used the guide in the handbook. Easy enough to do.
