So, my HDD has failed in my 2007 MBP, and the DVD drive has been dead for some time.
If I change the HDD and need to reinstall OSX (Lion) can I purchase and use the USB Key that Apple now sell instead of a DVD.
I have my MBP backed up onto my Time Capsule, so need to boot into Snow Leopard to initialise a restore.
I'd love to take the opportunity to upgrade to a newer MBP, but they are mid cycle, so I think I'll spend £100 or so now to get it working again and then upgrade when they next refresh.
Thoughts on whether the Mid2007 MBPs will boot from the Lion USB Key?
