Replacing/improving gpu cooler?

Could someone advise me as to improving the cooling on an MSI R6450? it runs hotter than the rest of my system, I have seen people applying AS5 to it in the same way as you would a cpu, is this the correct method, and if not, what should I do?

front fan pulling air in, rear fan forcing air out, side fan cooling chipset and to some extent gfx and ram. having put all fans on full, rather than silent mode, gfx no longer hitting 85C under load.
