Replacing Laptop Hardware ?

Only if Toshiba have been ******* and put a hardware whitelist in the bios.

I've never seen whitelists include HDDs though.

Laptop HDD's are 2.5 inch for starters and i dont know what format they run on, and they are only removable if they are on the back on the laptop facing down.

Replacing pretty much all mechanical hard drives in laptops are fairly easy, ones I have worked have been.

List of drive below, be careful on the larger capacity drives.

Usually the drive is behind a cover in the base, remove this, remove old drive, install new drive, go into BIOS change boot priority and re-install the operating system.

you can also remove them when they are in the laptop too, you just need to take most of the laptop apart

Without making a new thread, I was looking to put a 128gb ssd into my laptop. But how does it work for re-installing windows? I don't have a disk as it came preinstalled.

Regardless of whether or not I upgrade to SSD I would still like to do a fresh install.

Well than you're going to have to buy a Windows OS DVD :)

Download a copy from here (clicky) and install with the license code on the bottom of the laptop.

You may also need to do some searching online for any drivers that you're going to need if you don't already have them before you re-install your OS .
