Replacing Leadtek 6800 Heatsink

I've got a Leadtek 6800NU AGP and the cooler does get a bit loud for my liking. I've noticed that OcUK stock the Artic Coolers for the 6800 series.

I want to make it quieter and also fancy the challenge of replacing the heatsink! :D

So how hard is it to remove the leadtek heatsink and fit the Artic Cooler?

Thanks in advance.

It's easy mate, unscrew the original cooler and (slowly) twist it around to help break any sealing, lift it off and clean the gpu of the leftover goop, the Artic cooler has thermal paste pre-applied so you only need to align it with the supplied backplate then firmly screw it down. 5-10 minute job at max. :)

Thanks for the reply.

That's good to know! I was worried that the Leadtek heatsink would be different and it's not the standard nvidia one.

I won't need any sort of GPU cleaner will I? Will a cloth do?
