Replacing my AMD S939

Hi,

Having decided to upgrade my processor, I was disappointed to find out that the s939 chips had been discontinued. Meaning if I wish to upgrade I need to replace my motherboard as well.

It seems the intel quad core chips are out, but does anyone one know when the AMD rival quad core chip will be released? and any information on it?

AMD 64 bit.. s939 . I wanted to just go duel core . seems they don't make them anymore.

Try picking one up s/hand. Got a 4200x2 for £58. Better than changing a whole rig.

I wouldn't bother, you have morons bidding £300 on a 3800x2.

Definitely worth getting a dual core proc if you can, I changed mine in the summer and you can see the difference it makes very easily.

I have 3500+ and I think I will go for opteron 175 or 180

well as soon as AMD finally reease the quads, and we see price for profomance. I wiil then be selling my 909 kit.

Please no comments about they wont be as fast as intel.
