Just a quick one. I'm not very wise with these things. I recently had a fault on one of my ram sticks so I've sent them back as they have lifetime warranty. Thing is I'm sick of waiting for them to get to their destination so I've decided to buy new and then sell my replacements when they get back to me. What I wanted to know is my old ram is ddr 3 pc 15000 1866..have I got to put the same ram back in or can I go faster ...would the pc recognise my new ram is not the old one and still work ok ..many thanks

Oh...mono is a gigabyte...not sure of model..its not 2 years old yet..
7950 X fire
I 7 cpu
Is this information any good to you..Thanks for reply

Hi, just found my paperwork for my system, which I bought from you guys and the mob is a gigabyte z77x-d3h . would this help a little .cheers for the replys..

The ram above will work fine, as mentioned you will need to setup the settings in the BIOS, only down side it wont colour match with the board :p

That ram features XMP, in the overclocking section of your bios there will be an option to select XMP. This will automatically set up the speed, timings and ram voltage.

You should be able to enable the XMP profile and this will load the correct settings.

Go with the ram below, you may need to adjust the settings in the BIOS, as you did not mention the model number of the motherbaord I cant fully check if the ram will run at default speed but worse case you just drop the multiplier down a notch :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED38G2400HC11CDC01) £53.99
Total : £57.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

Just ordered the ram. Will let you know how I go on with it.. many thanks

HELP please... just installed ram. went to check speed with cpu z...and it said

hi, i did sort it.. when i got my replacement patriot memory back from patriot i tryed it in my pc . This runs at 1866 . I enable the profile and it worked first time no issues. After doing a ot of searching it apears my gigabyte motherboard is a bit choosy when it comes to running overclocked memory. I kept the patriot memory and sold the other. Took a bit of a hit but im happy withe patriot memory. Only thing i would say is if your going to use overclocked memory just check it compatable with your mobo...
