Replacing Samsung Nexus 10

I think my Nexus 10 might be dead. Holding power button and both volume buttons at the same time for 60 seconds etc, still nothing.

I've just had a look at what might work as a replacement, but virtually everything I've looked at has lower screen resolution and a smaller battery. What gives?

My primary objectives would be something that's lighter, with better battery life, and a MicroSD slot. But looking just at the specs it seems that in some ways I'd be going backwards.

Is the explanation that it's more about getting AMOLED etc than higher res on the screen front, and more efficient processors mean smaller batteries equal same battery life? If anyone has any specific suggestions, I'm all ears. My main uses are watching TV over WiFi or internal storage and word processing on the move (with a bluetooth keyboard) - hence the weight and screen res being important.
