Replacing Sky box - easy to do?

as per title - i am looking to get a replacment for my amstrad sky digibox.

when i get the replacments will i need to enter any details or will it set itself up?

if so, what details will i need?

Our Grundig box packed in so we phoned sky to "cancel" and they sent round a new one 2 days later

If you would like to do it yourself then after connecting it up call Sky to "pair the box and card".

I wish Sky would be consistent about what they offer customers in the case of failure. My ancient Grundig box failed recently and they offered to send an engineer on a £65 call out charge who would either repair my box or supply a new one. Admittedly this is better than £150 or so for a new one at retail. Haven't decided what to do yet.

Which box did you get out of interest Tesla?

I asked Sky about HD and they can only install in August. I may call them again and say I want to cancel because I don't want to pay anything for a standard box now and then have to pay out again for an HD box in 3 months. See if that works.

Its dead easy, ive just changed my standard box t a sky plus
box and it was done in 5 minutes

Well that's what they wanted to do to us so we said we would cancel and low and behold they did it for free!

We have a refurb'd Amstrad. Just seems to work well, not the fastest box but a good picture and so far reliable
