My darling mother cracked her screen on her netbook (Aspire 1 ZG5). The laptop is still fine to use but would like to replace at some point. I have never taken apart a laptop/netbook but have plenty of experience of building PCs and replaced a few screens on Nokia phones. How difficult is it to replace a netbook screen? I have found a replacement for around £50 but if its too difficult, think I will pass.

never worked on a netbook but replaced laptop screens, just need to take your time.

also make sure that it is definately the right screen model for the netbook.

just replaced one myself the other day, just take your time and remove the rubbers around the screen, the one i worked on was samsung and had 2 screws under the rubbers at the tom and same at the bottom, you then use your finger to gently prize the plastic bezel from the screen and it it pop most of the way around, the rest should be easy from there.

If you can do a phone you can do a netbook screen, really easy, usually 4 screws on the bezel and a few on the screen brackets, lift the screen forward disconnect, pop the new screen in and reassemble.
