My rather ancient PC died the other day so in preperation for building a new one i've stripped out my case to clean it what have you. I've also removed the 4 fans because i'd like to replace them with silent ones.

I dont plan on overclocking so they only need to do an adequate cooling job. Silence is the name of the game here. So if someone could recomend which ones to go for i'd really appreciate it.

I've included a picture because i'm not sure about how i'll attach them.

As you can see they connect to the front of the case via some tiny power connecter. Can i get fans that have such a power connector?

Below is a picture of the fans removed from you case. As you can see the fans are actually connected to each other by the wires. Will that be a problem for replacing them?

The case also has an extractor fan at the back and at the top of the case. They're totally straightforward to attach and have regular power connectors, like the ones for the HDD etc.

The picture below i've included because i've never had any idea what it is. Does anyone know?

Thanks muchly.

Hi mate those small power connectors for the fans are very standard nowadays, most fans you buy will have them, and come with converters to change them into the 4pin molex power connectors like you power your hard drive, dvd drive etc with.

and on the second picture, that looks like a removable hard drive cage, :p

all the fans are depends on what size you need of course, any chance you know.?

would recomends some fans like these

looks to me like 2x 80mm and case is something like an old Lian li PC60? but then again the power switch is too low.

If you can get hold of them (overclockers used to have them) Coolink 801's are about as silent as you can get. I've been using 1 for 18 months and its great, I've just fitted 5x 1201's in my rig and its o so quiet :D

only in the 120mm form for my Antec 300 and do the jo great, no to noisy either :p

Yeah its a Lian Li PC60, about 4 or 5 years old. I thought it was about time i gave it a refresh with a clean and some new fans.

You will need a 80mm fan with a 3 pin plug.
Personally I would buy Akasa Smoke Ultra Quiet as suggested above, there are quieter fans out there, but these are a good price and much better than the original fans for silence.

80mm fans
