Hi folks, been taking an enforced hiatus due to cash flow .. but back ;)

MY rig is currently back on Air GPU and WC CPU on one Rad

but things are going horribly wrong ..

not wrong in a "OMG WATER ! WATER EVERWHERE!"

more of a .. turn on rig and the pump takes 30 seconds to finally turn over.

I've stripped and cleaned the rig but both pumps still fail to perform

so I'm guessing that they are goosed .. or just can't handle it.

so

I'm gonna replace the lot :)

the pumps I want are D5 Varios ( or so I'm told they are the best )

get Rid of the dual DDCs and the Bay res

I'm hoping to keep the same size tubing and the fittings ( it's 3/8 ID 1/2 OD )

put in one or two cylinder res and the D5's
would one pump work for the amount of restriction I've got ?
for those too lazy to look at my rig pictures

three HD5870s covered with full block EK's
one AMD Thuban CPU
and a lot of raddage

or will I need moar power ? the dual DDCs is series worked well for 8 months before they died

let me know your thoughts on items to buy and things you would do different

I'll be buying in about 3 weeks time and then fitting straight away

Cheers for input

Yea that pump combo looks good, i am considering upgrading my MCP355 to one of thoes when i add in another 120.4 rad.

any one have one already ?

can you use any fittings or only specific sizes

what RES recommendations are out there?

who ated my last cookie ?

The aftermarket tops allow for any g1/4 fitting to be used on the d5 as the stock top has moulded 1/2" barbs allowing for only 1/2id hose to be used (7/16 with some encouragement can go over).

What sort of res are you looking for, bay or cylinder?

probably Cylinder ... I have plans for the bay

probably cut it out and bump in a bigger PSU :)

the Dremel has been sleeping for 12 months and it has awoken !

but I dunno ... I dont think there's room for D5's in here

lastly someone has just alerted me to the new Laing MCP35X ... dayamn that looks hawt

so .. I'm so conflicted !

to cut or not to cut .. that is indeed the question
