Hello, i've been using zonealarm pro for the last few years (since about 2002) and I just feel as though its time to move on...It uses entirely too much memory. I was wondering if I could have your opinions on what to replace it with. Basically, i want something that isn't as bloated as ZAP, but is still quite good. I hear the XP2 firewall is good now (although I still don't trust it) I'm on a dialup ADSL connection, so I don't have a hardware firewall. What do you guys recommend? I hear Filseclab is quite good as well, as it isn't bloated, supposedly.

Also, I will be installing Vista soon, most likely, so the firewall should work with Vista.

Cheers;

comodo firewall would be worth it for you since you're on dial-up
windows firewall is ample if you're using a router with a few ports forwarded

seriously though, i'd get a router, they're so cheap now and once you've had one, you'll never turn back -no dialling up, just ethernet -no extra software on your pc :)

yeah, i used to have a 4mbit cable back when i lived in the states...i know the benefits of a router, but i probably will wait to get one until i get a better isp...
i hate dialup adsl...actually dsl in the uk sucks full stop unless you live in london
