replaying doom3 with new hardware

since getting my x-fi extreme i thought i would give doom 3 another go.
its like playing a new game with the xfi surround sound option thru my headphones, that and the shiny new 20" widescreen i jut got, doom at 1680x1050 is just so sexy.

So dust off the copy of doom I say

personally i found Doom 3 incredibly boring, no matter what hardware is use!

But nice one on the X-fi! Wanted one when i built my new rig but just couldnt stretch to be able to get it

Audio was a major part of the dom experience, but you had to at least like it first time round to appreciate it fully

It got kinda repetetive to be honest for me. But then again all i have is a sub, and two speakers. Lol. :/

yeah I thought the sound effects just weren't loud enough and the guns didn't sound very powerful, the pistol sounded weak and the minigun just didn't sound right, imo all miniguns should sound like the one in Predator and be even louder!

Get the Resurrection Of Evil expansion pack (can be picked up for £10 now) as it has much better gfx +sound TBH. ID know how to make game engines but when it comes to content the 3rd party devs usually make more interesting games.
