Replcacing AM5 Motherboard - recommendation for someone who will only upgrade CPU (7600) at EOL of socket

Hello,

Beleive I fried my motherboard by overheating it in the desk cabinet with the door closed. Can't POST (CPU and DRAM both red).
(In the process of swapping RAM modules to see if I could get the computer to boot, I have broken one of the RAM module 'clips' that hold it in place through clumsiness/frustration, so assume I've voided my warranty too.)

If that is the case, please can someone recommend a Motherboard for someone who has a 7600 currently and doesn't plan to upgrade until the last iteration of AM5 CPU (something like the equivalent of the AM4 5800x3D.

Currently have a B650M Riptide (non-Wifi) , after watching the Hardware Unboxed mega-comparison video. Just looking for half decent VRMs and 4 Ram slots when the time comes to upgrade CPU and RAM years down the line. Don't plan on any serious overclocking, mainly just for gaming (perhaps local AI queries).

Have there been any new boards released worth looking at? Budget conscious but happy to stump up given the long-term plan. Thank you all

There should be enough protection built in to avoid killing a motherboard from heat but over a longer period and through many heat cycles, I can see why that would end up damaging a motherboard.

The damage might not be obvious and it might not be the motherboard itself. It might be the RAM or CPU.

I'm very happy with my Asus Strix X670E-A if that's useful in any possible way.
If you're aiming for longevity then my advice would be to check warranties and avoid onboard fans of any sort.

That said, I doubt your motherbaord is actually dead. My money's on the ram.

Yes, it wasn't the motherboard, RAM error (and likely CPU overheat -RMA'd).

Busted a module clip, caused by my own heavy hand, still grateful for the recommendations as I don't have all four RAM slots working, AFK right now but hopefully dual channel works in A1 & A2 setup because B2 is dead.

A1A2 is single channel mode
you need to use alternate slots to get dual channel, ie either A2B2 (which is the recommended) or A1B1
if you are certain that B2 is busted then try using A1B1

RAM slots are labelled this way: CPU -> A1 -> A2 -> B1 -> B2
so:
A2B2 looks like this: CPU -> blank -> RAM -> blank -> RAM
A1B1 looks like this: CPU -> RAM -> blank -> RAM -> Blank
