Repurpose a mac mini 2006

I have a late 2006 mac mini. Not sure what to do with it. Anybody got any ideas? 1.66ghz core duo and 2gb ram 60gb hdd.

Its not going in the bin guys!

Does it have enough might to work as an HTPC?

If not, paperweight?

Could pick up a cheap Core2, flash to 2,1, install 4gb DDR2 (it'll only use 3gb), and get an SSD in there.
Install Windows 7 (32bit) on it. OSX is a misery to use on them, and can't officially go past Snow Leopard.

It's not really worth the effort...

I still like them, but that Intel 945 is just doom.

I was given one of these last year. 1.6 ghz Core duo upgraded to 4 gig ram and a 200 gig hard drive. I was just thinking the other day that it's only been turned on twice and that was about 8 months ago. Why would I when my pc is an i7 4ghz and 16gig ram? I might just salvage the hard drive and dump the rest
