Reputable online music stores

I want to buy a new guitar and some recording equipment but my local guitar shop is a rip off. There is a site called Guitars, Amps & Keyboards (GAK) that i've seen the bits I want. Does anyone know if it's good or can suggest another online store like it?

The cheapest i have found is www.guitar.co.uk, but i cant comment on their service as ive never ordered with them before. a lot of their high end stuff can be up to £100 cheaper than GAK.
