Hi, I'm in the market for a 980ti and got to keep very close to my budget of £500 give or take a few extra quid. Well at the moment all that is close to that price point which don't look to bad are the inno3d herculez or from another dealer I can get a Evga superclocked 980ti.for just £20 more. I must admit I don't know much about inno3d but read good stuff about evga. Would going with reputation be better than saving £20 for the inno3d? .Also how do both cards compare in gaming ....cheers guys.

I would go with a company with the best after-sales customer service. EVGA is quite good. Not sure about the other brand

EVGA for £20 more? Me personally, I would pay £50 more.

Which EVGA model is it exactly? Reference model?

Both are very good cards... Iirc the cooler on the inno is slightly quieter as its 3 fans over two, but EVGA have a pretty good reputation for support

If the EVGA is the ACX version that is... If reference/blower then get the inno imo

As long as you look after it properly it shouldn't matter in the end so go for price/performance/looks.

Don't know your background but many enthusiasts don't seem to keep a card longer than 2-3 years anyway so unless you plan on keeping it any longer, the 5 year warranties aren't that important.

As for reliability, any card can go boom. The only card I have ever had to RMA was a 8800gtx and that was an EVGA and had to wait weeks for a replacement.

Go for the EVGA, it's a very nice card.

If I'm honest this is definitely going to be a one off purchase at this sort of price due to getting a nice gift from the in laws. In another post I started I asked for advice regarding gpu s and the 980ti was the most recommended. Basically due to the rest of my spec I was told this card would see me out for at least 3 years and hopefully more ..

Warranty wise, go gigabyte. UK based, reputable. People talk about evga, in my case the reputation didn't live up to the hype.

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC GAMING ACX 2.0+ 6GB GDDR5...This is the one fella..

Definitely take that over the Inno one. No question about it.

I bought two of them around July. A couple of weeks ago, one of them began to make a rattling sound when the fans started spinning. So I asked for advice on EVGA forums: http://forums.evga.com/980-Ti-ACX-rattling-sound-m2410266.aspx#2410266

As you can see, two EVGA reps responded quickly and advised me to RMA the card. I sent it out last week and my replacement is now on its way. The entire process was really smooth, so for me the EVGA hype is real.

In that case is this worth considering? Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Overclocked Graphics Card

Yep, id go gigabyte any day of the week. The only reason ive got an msi 980ti is because it was well priced at the time. After being badly bitten by evga's customer service, i wouldnt touch them with someone elses barge pole never mind my own.

Any but MSI, recently RMA a 780 and it took 28 days exactly to receive a replacement,

If I didn't buy a new card while waiting it would have been a no gaming month....

I'd go EVGA over Gigabyte. Inno3D do ugly looking cards IMO so they're out.

EVGA are good and there rep on here seems to be very helpful from what I've read.

Inno3D and EVGA only have 2 or 3 year warranties, Zotac are the only ones with a 5 year guarantee but I've heard nothing about there RMA service.
