As the title says can someone give info on how this game plays on PS3 and how perhaps it looks upscaled.

Appreciate any comments as i loved the Dreamcast version but never played the PS2 version, how does it fair in comparison and particulary now on PS3?

So nobody has F355 laying around and owns a PS3?

Crickey

Or the people you're looking for are at work and haven't seen your thread yet because they don't have access to the net until the evening? Patience my friend, patience. :)

Hardly with over 100 views and no comments.

Might just go out and buy one second hand, means i wont have to hunt out all my Dreamcast cables etc. Was concerned as to how it played to the Dreamcast version better/worse, curious really.

Still a classic racing game and perhaps like Forza 2 in a way were handling and feel was more important than graphical flare. Will be using the game for a comparison thread to show how much racing games have evolved in the last 5 years.

I don't even own a PS3 and I'm in here aren't I?! Some of us just read every thread even if it doesn't apply to us..it's quite easy to rack up 100 views that way.

i can account for about 3 or 4 of those views

and yes i have a PS3

but no i dont have the game. But yes i still browsed the thread for a look. Are you on about 355 challenge btw ?

Yes F355 Challenge it was a game i was pretty darn good at on the Dreamcast and want to see or try it on the PS3.

Going to have a look in town today for it (pre owned)

Upcoming thread.......
Compare F355 2002 game with FM2 2007 game.
How far have graphics and racing games moved on in 5 years?

Both sims with the some tracks the same, i will do a photo comparision/discussion thread. Curious myself to see the differences.

dont do it you will be horrified

i dug out f1 97 and played it on the ps3 last week , the wheels are square and the "amazing" warm brake effect si used too love is just a one tone yellow circle on your wheel when you brake :p

dont get me started on the rain effects. amazing how much stuffs improved in ten years

Seems a bit pointless to me, it will look exactly like what it is - a late 90's arcade game.

Wont be anywhere near as good as you 'remember', and anything PS2 era onwards will more than likely better it quite easily. Was good for it's time, but so was Pacman :p

I always loved the handling on F355, was so much better than the glue tyred Gran Turismo! Loved mulltiplayer on it, especially when you got good at the game.
I also loved the extreme-cheese 3 Track soundtrack the Dreamcast version had (not played PS2 so can't compare) It was rock genius!

The point is to compare exactly how things have moved on, im not expecting it too look any or much better when upscaled on PS3.

Laguna Seca & Suzuka in particular will be used to compare against the same tracks in FM2. Many people have criticised FM2 graphics just like F355 at the time so from two similar games with the emphasis on simulation i think theirs some degree of appeal in comparing.

General graphics, sceneary, car models, draw distance, how the game feels, the handling of the cars and even down to the AI. Also regards the track how accurate are they to the real thing? How next gen is next gen exactly, im trying to create a topic of debate by doing the illustration.

I have the game ordered on a branch transfer from a popular exchange franchise.

Did people complain about F355s graphics at the time? i thought it looked amazing till i played it, cuz F355 had terrible AI imo, i played the DC version. if anybody intended to do well they must have noticed the obvious flaw with the computer controlled cars :(

Surely it's not a fair comparison if you are upscaling it? If you want to see how far things have come you want the game in its original incarnation.

Makes next to no difference in a lot of games, besides HDTVs or my projector would upscale it anyways.

I seem to remember reading PS2 reviews at the time which said the DC version was superior graphically, for what it's worth. (Possibly because the arcade version used the same Naomi hardware.)

Good game but I dont have the ps3 or have ever played the ps2 version. Im sure it'd play as good as ever but Forza must be better overall

Of course it will, but how does the F355 in FM2 handle in comparison, just how much are the graphics next gen? Thats what im looking to find put and achieve in comparing.

I can't wait for that thread......

I had a look in town for it today in town just so I could buy it and post pics here to tease you but found nothing
