Request for help choosing a GPU

Hello all

I'm new to the forums and requesting a little help if possible.

This is the first time I have tried upgrading my machine and after 5 years I feel she needs it.

My GPU is on her last legs with the fan nearly gone and making a lot of noise. Despite been cleaned, and I am having to drop settings on games as well now.

I currently have the following setup

Chillblast desktop with:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home - APCI x64-based PC
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 0401, 6/21/2011
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 4 Core(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB
AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series GPU
BaseBoard Manufacturer - ASUSTeK Computer INC.

Hope this help with what I have if more info needed let me know. Not overly sure what you guys need.

I am looking to upgrade the GPU now spending up to a max of £250.
I play low level games XCOM2 and Dawn of war so not really power hungry.

I am also looking to add a Solid state drive for the OS and couple of games later.

Then lastly to upgrade the Motherboard and CPU together.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Sorry for the wall of text.

Thanks guys for all the info great help. Will hold off till mid to end of June and see what happens to the prices. Will let you know where I go with it.
