Hey, i know my way around a computer for the most part but hardware eludes me. Really i am just looking for suggestions on how to upgrade what i have to be better.

I stream live on twitch and some games are starting to be a bit too much for what i currently have and i would also like things to run a little smoother. maybe add the ability to add a third monitor?

I am unsure how to add what the spec of my PC is but i got it from this site a few years back. i think it was called a titan krypt if i am not mistaken?

I will go find out how to get that info and post back if anyone would be willing to help.

Also i have a modest budget too so probably no top of the line shizzle whizzle.

welcome,

We can certainly help you out, it'd be nice to know what spec you have now, so if you can post that that'd help a lot. :)

Are you going to game over 3 monitors? or will you only be using 1? What resolution are they?

How modest is modest? give us a Max budget and we'll try and work to it.

Any parts you can save from your previous build, HDD, OD, PSU, ect..?

i have no idea if this is everything or not. Nobody know a better way to link my setup? Everything i have right now works fine and as for budget i will need to save and buy parts one by one so yeah...

I have no idea what you mean bu "use GPU-Z" i run the progrmam and pretty numbers and letters come up... am i supposed to do something?

i have an ATI Radeon HD 5570 if that helps?

It does. :)

It's not the best card out there, and you'll need a CPU/motherboard/Ram upgrade too..

Its best not to do it one by one as the you'd have to buy the CPU and motherboard together.. and if you put a new GPU in your current system, it will be bottlenecked pretty badly.

Do you know wehat PSU you have? (if you don't youll need to open up the case and have a look)

Are you looking to keep your current Hard drive and optical drive?

really i just want to be able to stream the latest titles without framerate issues. They dont need to be on top GFX settings or anything. just a bit of a buffer to help with problems i am having.

Well i really cant afford to get them all at once so would have to buy them one by one then fit them when i have the lot?

The PSU is a Corsair CX600

If i have to replace that much would i not be better selling this rig and buying a newer one?

upgrade over replace debate?

so no suggestions as to any hardware?

It`s kind of difficult to suggest anything, without some idea of what your budget is.

I think this was the original spec for the Titan Krypt.

System Specification

- Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W
- CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 640 3.00GHz Processor
- Motherboard: Asus M4A78LT-M 760G (AM3) Motherboard
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9
- Hard Drives: Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATA-II 16MB Cache
-
- Graphics Card: Choice of the latest DirectX 10 and 11 graphic cards: Default for free is Ge Force GT 430 1024MB GDDR3 Low Profile

Totally Agree..

Though really something along the lines of a ivy/haswell i5 and corresponding motherboard, 8GB of RAM and a 7850 2GB. :)

In the region of £400/£500

Your PSU will be fine

Personally starting from where you are I'd look to upgrade but I get the impression you're not that familiar with the inner pieces of a computer so maybe a bit harder for you - are you planning on assembling it yourself? It isn't too hard even for a novice, but it'll require a bit of research and not being afraid of messing up :)

Without a budget - I guess I'd look around for a second hand i5 2500k processor, a compatible mobo (moderate chance it'll be sold together I guess, along with a CPU cooler) and a second hand/b grade HD 7850. That would get you up to a reasonable level, a massive step up from where you are now. I'd also aim to go to 8 GB of ram instead of the 4 you have now but if money is tight I'd stick on 4 rather than downgrading other parts. Its super-easy to later swap out for better ram. You can probably resuse your current case, PSU, HDD and any other bits like dvd drives, monitors etc.

If you've got a decent budget then you could get a better system than I've suggested above, with new parts etc. Give us a hint and we'll give you more detailed answers :)

Edit: I appear to have just repeated what Doomedspeed said. Apologies, I did read your post but apparently didn't take it in!

i have a friend who is well versed in "building" PC's so will get him to give me a hand with it.

i guess i will have a look at the prices on the site so i have an idea of how much these things cost.

Thanks a lot for the help and i do apologize for my lack of knowledge :D

sorry to be a bother but if i am getting a new board and everything how will i know if it will fit my case?

and if i get stuff to go into it how do i know it fits?

How much do you have to spend, as without a budget it is pretty much a guessing game.

Motherboards are basically ATX, mATX or mITX. Case specs will tell you what form factor of motherboard will fit. They will in some cases tell you the maximum length of Gpu and height of Cpu cooler they will accommodate.

Assuming it is the Antec 300 as mentioned earlier in the thread it'll take a standard ATX mobo (or mini-ITX, or microATX)

No worries on having questions or 'lack of knowledge' ... we all were new to this at some point! :)

Edit: I see some places saying maximum video card size: 11"/279mm for that case... some cards are longer than that but most will fit. This can vary within one type of card just to be extra confusing :( but there are plenty people round here who can help make sure you pick an appropriate one. Maybe google the antec 300 and check that it looks like your one :)
