Request - Spec me a PC

Hello,

A friend recommended that I create an account here for a PC spec

The PC would be used for mainly gaming (1080p at the moment but will be 1440p soon) with some streaming/video editing. I'm confident enough to put it together myself and overclock the CPU a wee bit.

My budget is £1850 including shipping. I'd like to put this all in a Phanteks evolv mid atx case, is it possible to sorta future proof it a little at this budget? Not entirely sure what to look for.

Don't need: Monitor, keyboard, mouse or OS.

Hi there

You could get a 6 core i7 5820K and GTX 980 ti for that budget.

A GTX 970 would be fine for 1080p, but the 980 ti will give you better performance when you change to 1440p.

If you wanted to add a 2nd graphics card in the future, then you would need a bigger psu (850W-1000W).

Ocuk have some coolers scalded asetek or something similar which are cheaper, much cheaper and are a lot more quiter.

I don't think there are any 280mm ocuk versions though, unless I am mistaken, so the H110i GT should perform better. You also get a 5 year warranty with the Corsair unit and it looks a lot nicer imo with the customizable LED lighting. If you run it in quiet mode then it isn't noisy at all.
