Would it be possible to add 1366x768 as a standard resolution to the ATI drivers, rather than having to use powerstrip? (or using 1360x768 and leaving 1:1 and losing 6 pixels width)

All LCD panel TV's that are 720p are 1366x768 (16:10) not 1280x720 (16:9) so must upmix to fit screen so do not do 1:1 pixel mapping.

I guess he wants to not have to upmix and have 1:1 on it.

1280x720 is 16:9
1366x768 is 16:9 (16:10 would be 1366x854)
1280x800 is 16:10
1280x768 is a tad oddball and closest to 5:3 IIRC

Sorry typo now fixed, I obv meant that as of 720p part. :)

Still doesnt help the OP, I personally do not like these 5:4 or 16:10 ratios, I had a TV that did both 720p and 1080i/1080p with 1:1 pixel mapping as it was a 16:9 screen.

I also got confused by TV's in that the 1280x720 feed is upmixed to LCD stupid 1366x768 size not change of (aspect Ratio) so still is not 1:1.

have you tried the multi-res program that comes with the omega drivers? apparently that is pretty successful.

I like that with nVidia drivers I can add almost any oddball resolution I like and it'll work fine... not played with ATI in a long time so dunno if its possible but I guess from the OP only via 3rd party tools.

AFAIK it already was in the drivers. Hmmm. You could try the Omega Drivers with the multi res program. I'll look into this.

EDIT :

Just checked apparantly 1360 x 768 is indeed only available. 1366x768 is not a res divisible by 8 so not a standard official vesa 2 res I have learnt (even though a lot of TV's use this res). Some of the other testers have complained to ATi to have it put in for ages but we havn't heard much. I'll try moaning some more but for now your best off using powerstrip or the like.
