Request: Windows firewall programme.

Does anyone know of a simple but FREE programme which will pop up when someone tries to access the internet and give me the option to allow or block. Either that or a quick way to block programmes myself. I know you can do it in Windows Firewall, but it's unintuitive and slow to get done.

All thoughts are appreciated!
 
There's probably a few front ends to Windows Firewall out there (assuming you're on Windows 7 or 8) that can add some ease of use, to achieve what you ask.

I personally use Comodo Free Firewall and have a few blocked apps which you can set under "Firewall" and "Define a blocked application", which is very straight forward or you can just leave them to throw a popup asking for access and then you can block them or allow them.
