I need a new graphics card as it seems those simpletons at Microsoft can't code Aero™ to run on my wonderful ATi 9200SE.

Ok, so I could just buy a shiny new GeForce ULTRA GTi 5K or whatever we're on now, but no. I have an aging Shuttle system with a puny PSU. I had to downgrade from my 9800 Pro when I bought it because it wouldn't power the graphics card.

So, graphics cards fans, what's the cheapest (read: <£30) graphics card I can buy that will not only allow me to experience the best in bloated and pointless graphical effects Vista™ has to offer, but will fit in and be powered by my Shuttle?

I need DVI because I'm a snob. I don't care if it's an nVidia card... Well, I do, but I'll just tell people it's ATi.

A Radeon 9550 is probably about the best you will get for the money new, it doesn't require any additional power connection and it is ATI with a DVI port, maybe check to see if Vista supports it though as it might still be borderline.

MS are releasing Vista on IRC ? Didn't see that on the MSDN bumf ;) BTW ATI have dropped support for anything below a 9200 (IIRC) now.

I meant the discussions about it on IRC.

As if I'd download anything that gets released on IRC...
