Hey everyone, I've been trawling the internet and attempting various different techniques to repair my PC, but its all failed, So I've decided to use a forum, To ask from the Community!

okay, here is my situation up to now:
I recently re-installed windows 7 64bit, Installed all my drivers and settings correctly, after having a Vundo.K trojan/virus.
I noticed that after playing minecraft from anywhere between 3-10 minutes, The computer would just simply shut down. No blue screen, no windows is shutting down, Just complete power off. like I pressed the reset button, but without a restart.
I also thought It could be a virus again, after using Windows defender, AVG and Norton 360, They all came up clean, (minus a few keyloggers, but they were removed) and I cannot play any graphically demanding applications, including PCXS2, (Playstation 2 emulator) GTA SA and once, on a full screen video.
I did have a Xfire system setup, (ATI HD Radeon 4870 and 4890) both 1GB, So I thought It was a power consumption error, (while I only have a 650W PSU) But after removing the second GPU, reinstalling the drivers and trying again, it still shuts down.

My specs:
-AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual core 6000+ - 3.1Ghz
-ATI HD Radeon 4890 1GB (750Mhz High performance GPU Clock and 900Mhz Memory clock)
-2X Corsair DDR2 (4GB total) RAM 1066Mhz
-Plenty of fans
-Pioneer DVD/RW Disc Drive
-2 SATA HDD @ 7500 RPM
-2 Dell SE198WFP Monitors (Dual display)
-Corsair 650W PSU

This is an old system, but it doesn't seem to be hardware,
I cleaned out the GPU and Heat sink from dust, (Quite a lot) and then replaced using heat paste, then even used a hoover to remove excess dust from the fan exit of the GPU case,
If anyone can shed light on this situation, I will be deeply grateful <3
(BTW, My Siggy is incorrect about the specs, so ignore that :3)

That does sound like a thermal shutdown. If you download Realtemp, and GPUz what do they tell you about temps ? You can make them log to a text file that will remain after a crash. Have you overclocked this ? What HSF is it ?

Secondly, you're still getting infections ? You need to run an anti-virus all the time. There are a number of free ones, like MSE or Avast that will do a good job for no cost.

Sounds like it's getting too hot so shutting itself down before it melts.

Run some benchmark tests with realtemp or similar up and see what happens.

well, I have run a number of tests, my GPU used to run at around 70 max before it started to slow the system down, now it runs at around 45-50 and It even shut down at 32 once, I will run the GPU z test and I also use Speedfan and I'll do the test with Realtemp.

If you were getting a few extra viruses, I'd reinstall Windows as well. In fact I'd nuke the drive contents and start again. This time put in Avast or MSE !

Yep, this! the dust also sounds like an issue. So maybe get it all apart and blow everything out with compressed air. I'd use prime 95 to test and HW monitor or speedfan for the temps.
