Requesting help with my RAM.

Hello, not sure if this is the correct forum but it's generally a RAM related issue (I believe).

I have 12 GB CORSAIR XMS3 1333MHz (6x2GB) installed into my PC, but Windows and the BIOS only detects 4 GB. I've tried switching around the RAM sticks and it seems to be that only the back two slots actually pick up any of the RAM sticks while the front four don't.

My Mobo is an ASUS P6T Deluxe. It seems to be that 4 sticks haven't failed, but just the 4 slots on my MOBO. I could be wrong but any help would be appreciated.

These are my RAM specs in the 'System' window and in the CPU-Z window.

P.S. I have also tried MSConfig by unchecking the box to no result.

did you enable xmp if the ram supports it? those timing might be too tight for 12gb hence its missing some ram, what dram voltage are you using and qpi/vtt or voltage? could be not enough or bent cpu socket pins or cpu heatsink too tight

i would try with 9-9-9-28-2t timings to start with esp with 12gb of ram

I'm not knowledgeable with things like XMP, timings or the voltage but I did give the CPU Heatsink a bit of a wobble and now the BIOS & Windows detects 8GB instead of 4GB.

Obviously proves that the slots all do work and so do the RAM sticks so should I fiddle with the CPU Heatsink again or?

Disable all overclocks first, if that doesn't work you might try putting in 3 sticks at a time (seeing as its triple channel)

Try a memtest after that, from your description you might want to try testing one stick at a time in one of those two slots that are working.
