Requirements for 1440p ?

Been looking for a new monitor for a while and the DGM on this week is likely to result in me getting my wallet out! http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-003-DG

My question is, will my system be humbled by the increased resolution in games (see sig) or will I be forced to upgrade ? I play bf3, arma's @ dayz / wasteland mods and a bit of DCS.

What are others people's experiences and is a monster system needed for this res?

7950 will do just fine, mines ok.

Crysis 3 made me turn the settings down to high and turn off AA/AF but it runs ok.
 
I went all out and plumped for the 7970 - the Gigabyte rendering.
It is fantastic (well it would need to be saying it's the high end AMD card).
I'm sure the 7950 is fine but if you can stretch that little bit more a 7970 is nowhere near as expensive these days and you'll be safe in the knowledge it will run EVERYTHING on highest settings and be futureproof (if such a thing exists in the PC world) for a good 2-3 years.
 
I'd better get clocking the cpu then!

My 7950 has headroom to clock too so looks like ill order now then :)
