Hey guys,

Will shortly be requesting my MAC code from Orange as, despite providing a fantastic connection during daytime hours, playing any kind of online game or video streaming during the evenings has become (literally) impossible. Speedtest gives good and consistant results, but Pingtest at peak hours confirms that it is unusable in any practical sense:

I've been on to Orange about the issue, and they've been happy to fob it off onto a line problem which they "will investigate", but it seems a fairly clear-cut case of their traffic management systems butchering my connection.

Unfortunately, my DSL options are rather limited. My local exchange (Budleigh Salterton, EX9) has no LLU providers and cable is not an option either. Can anyone please recommend me a good ISP who can provide me with a decent, stable connection for <£20 a month? My line speed here is limited at around 2mb (despite my office next door being 6mb+ steady), but evening stability is really what I'm dying for right now over raw speed.

Thanks in advance

AAISP

Awesome ISP with excellent and no nonsense support. They also let the customer have some control over their line such as setting super stable, or if you're on ADLS2+ interleaving as well.

Prices start at around £17.95 which is ideal if you want it mainly for evening use (I game on xbox live) and they will supply you with ADSLMax if your exchange isn't ADSL2+ enabled.

My pingtest to the same server you tested to:

Failing that IDNet are also very good with excellent support. You might find their tariff a little better, but personally AAISP's is better for me, which is why I moved to them.
