Res problem

Prob no use but does your monitor have any drivers? I know vista put on some syncmaster ones for my monitor.

Also from nvidia forum:
did you select the 60hz refresh rate in the nvidia desktop manager? depending on that, you can access different resolution. I have an emachine 19inch widescreen, and I have three refresh rates, 59, 60, and 75. At 59, I can only choose 1440*900, but at 60, I can do 800*600, 1280*1024, etc..

Connected with a vga cable or with a dvi one?
Native resolution support over vga is occasionally flakey, especially if the cable is long

I said it can be flakey, not that it'll always fail. You can instruct it to use a given resolution, but if its a hardware conflict with the cable it wont be able to. Perhaps someone else will forward an idea, but I'm standing firm on change to a digital cable and all will be well (assuming monitor and gfx card both support dvi, otherwise all I can suggest is a new, shorter vga cable).

I have had this issue with an old 19" wide Samsung.

Wouldn't let me have a higher res that 1280x1024 through either VGA or DVI and any refresh rate.

Ended up using it for my 360 and I can get all resolutions on that :(
