Res With Fill Port

Is it ok to use a Res with a fill port coming out of it? The res is only a 3 1/2 drive bay with 3 holes for the barbs, I'm planning on having two of them for the loop and i was going to plug one up. I have now ordered a fill port. For the third whole instead of plugging it up.

My Questions That Need Answering

1. Is it ok to use them both together or will it mess up the flow of the actual loop?

2. Should i fill the res up to the top and most of the way up to the fill port or will the water in the fill line not be used?

3. Or is it best to just use the res on its own?

Many Thanks,
Paul.E

Using a fill-port attached to a res allows the res to be completely full and eases adding water. It's not a common approach because it's kind of a "belt and braces" one. It won't mess up the flow, why should it?
I would fill the res and at least half-way up the fill-tube. Will the extra water get used? It won't make any difference to the cooling if that's what you mean.
Reservoirs are generally designed to be used as they are but a fillport won't detrimentally affect one.

I got a T-Line here, and tbh, it's a PITA to fill, so I'd get a T-line into a res if I built a rig in the future.

Those EK Cyclone Res's lend them perfectly to having a T-line into them and looking good. ;)

Pink any chance of pic of this, considering doing the same with my rebuild ;)

I ned to get some pictures of my new build sorted. Just haven't got around to it. Will try and sort this out at the weekend. Got a decent camera to take the pictures with now :D
